In order to help the students to know more about the situation of inner Taiwan island and cross-Straits,on the afternoon of March 15,2006, Zhang Hejing, director of Taiwan Affairs Office of Anhui Province, presented a report on “Chen Shuibian’s ceasing the function of the "National Unification Council” and the Cross-straits situation” in the student’s Hall in Qing Yuan campus. The whole lecture was sponsored by Wang Yuankuo, vice-president of Anhui University.
    Zhang introduced the background of Chen’s promise of Four No's and One won’t and the essence of his ceasing the function of the "National Unification Council” as well as analyzed the status quo of inner Democratic Progressive Party and Taiwan island, Cross-straits and relationship of Sino-US. Zhang also deeply expounded responding of various sides of international community and our government’s attitude and principle. The hall was brimming with the warm applause when Zhang answered students’ questions.
    Xu Ming, director of Foreign Affairs Office and Mao Dequan, deputy director general of Students Affairs Office ,together with eight hundred audience attended the lecture.
