On the morning of March 29 2007, the Research & Investigation Meeting on higher education institutes’ united front work was held at the conference room of Yifu Library, Anhui University. Present at the meeting were leaders and officials from related ministries and institutions, including Mr. Zhang Mingjie, Vice Inspector and Mr. Ma Jianguo, Researcher of the Six Bureau of Central United Front Work Department, Mr. Li Dejian, Researcher of Research Office of Central United Front Work Department, Mr. Zhang Wenbin, Vice Director of Organization & Information Division of Ethics & Politics Department of Ministry of Education, Mrs. Ye Suhua, Assistant Researcher of Organization & Leadership Work Division of Anhui Provincial Education Department, Mrs. Wang Liping, Deputy Director of Parties & Talents Division of Anhui Provincial United Front Work Department, and directors of united front work division of some higher education institutes. Mr. Ye Hua, Deputy Secretary of the Anhui University Committee of the CPC met members of research & investigation group.

The theme of the meeting was the role higher education institutions should play in united front work, the present situation and challenges and some constructive suggestions on the issues.
