On 28th,
April morning, the report meeting of preliminary assessment
of the undergraduate teaching and working of our university
was held in the lecture hall D201 at the north building on Qing
Yuan campus.
The first stage meeting was chaired by Lu Qinyi who is the secretary
of our university. Those who attended the meeting were all the
staff of the expert group and the leaders of our university
which include Huang Dekuan, Wei Sui, Ye Hua, Wu Xianliang, Yang
Jiaqin, Du Xianneng, Wang Yuankuo, Li Renqun. Relevant principals
from other branches or divisions of the Provincial Educational
Department or of our university attended the meeting.
Representing the CPC committee, Lu Qinyi expressed warm welcome
and great respect in his welcoming address. He said that since
the launch of assessing and constructing work, our university
has been implementing the spirit of some documents of the Ministry
of Education, insisting on the guiding principles of ˇ°promoting
construction through assessment, promoting improvement through
assessment, combining assessment and construction, and attaching
great importance to constructionˇ±, making all relevant work
of self-assessment seriously. Today, our university has invited
experts here to assess our university in order to find the existing
problems and deficiency. So our university may focus improvement
and construction on these problems and improve the teaching
quality of undergraduate education to realize the overall aim
of assessing the teaching and working of undergraduate education.
The second stage meeting was chaired by the head of the expert
group. On behalf of the president of Anhui University, Huang
Dekuan, the deputy president, Du Xianneng gave a report with
the title ˇ°taking quality as essence, seeking development through
creativity, improving the quality of teaching and working in
full scaleˇ±. The report is divided into five sections. The
first one is about the history and present conditions of our
university. The second one is about the guiding idea of running
an university. The third one is about undergraduate teaching.
The fourth one is about the characteristics of running our university.
And the fifth one is about the direction to which we will make
efforts.
