On the afternoon of May, 16, the first competition of overseas students’ knowledge of Chinese culture was held in our university. Leaders in the propaganda department, the Chinese department and teachers responsible for the teaching of overseas students were invited as the judges of this competition.

All together 18 overseas students from 8 different countries took part in the competition including questions-answring of Chinese culture and display of talents. Participants knew so much about Chinese culture that even Chinese students marveled at their excellent performance. Participants gave satisfactory answer to each question. Besides, the display of talent with great originality received warm applause from the audiences. Finally, Jia Xiya from Congo, Jin Zhenger and Li Gaoen from the North Korea won the first prize.

This competition was not only well received among overseas students in our university, but also attracted overseas students in other universities.
