On the morning of May 25, President Huang Dekuan met the delegation headed by President Arnold Speert from William Paterson University at our university. Vice President Wang Yuankuo and leaders from relevant divisions also attended the meeting.
President Huang Dekuan said that America and China were two great countries. It was of great importance for youngsters from two countries to learn about each other’s history and culture in order to develop friendly relationship between the two countries. It was 25years ago that Mr Cho Kin Leung at William Paterson University learned the story of Prof. Teng Maotong who was at Anhui University at that time and then had a chance to invite him to visit William Paterson University, thus to have the first communication and exchange between two universities. Our two universities had been cooperating smoothly in many aspects for 25 years. There would be more prosperous foreground in cooperation with the deepening communication between the two universities.

President Arnold Speert gave his great thanks to President Huang Dekuan for his meeting. He said that the international status of China had been increasing with rapid economical development. American people began to know more about China and respected China very much. William Paterson University would enhance cooperation with Anhui University.

After meeting, Mr and Mrs Arnold Speert visited our new campus under the company of Xu Ming, Director of Office of Foreign Affairs. Other members of the delegation discussed relevant cooperation with leaders from the School of Business Administration and Economics School of Anhui University.
